For many years the Water Corporation and Western Australian Industry Groups have worked together to promote the efficient use of water, with the objective of promoting demand management throughout the community. Together we explore the development, application and/or installation of products and services that promote the efficient use of water in the home and in the garden.

The Great Gardens Program has been operating sustainable gardening workshops for the general public since September 2003. To date over 12,000 people have attended a Great Gardens workshop making it the largest environmental education program of its kind in Western Australia.

The Water CampaignTM is a voluntary, international, water management program which aims to build the capacity of local government to reduce water consumption and improve local water quality. The Water CampaignTM in Western Australia is delivered by ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability Oceania (ICLEI Oceania) in collaboration with the Department of Water as part of the Western Australian State Water Plan.
The "Waterwise Council" initiative for local governments is a program that is being jointly developed and promoted by the Water Corporation and ICLEI Oceania to support behavioural changes in the community, by encouraging the use of products and services designed to maximise efficient water usage.

Since 1998, Irrigation Australia (IA) and the Water Corporation have worked together to promote the efficient use of water in garden design with the objective of promoting the efficient use of water throughout the community.
With the support and endorsement of the Water Corporation, IA offers training to all irrigators and irrigation design shop staff so as to give them the opportunity to become “Water Corporation Endorsed Waterwise Garden Irrigators” and “Waterwise Irrigation Design Shops".
Waterwise Garden Irrigators endorsed under the program are qualified to design and install water efficient garden watering systems to an industry standard. The waterwise garden irrigation systems they install are eligible for a Waterwise rebate. To find out more about the waterwise irrigation system rebate visit www.water.wa.gov.au.
Landscape Industries Association of WA

Since 1998, the Landscape Industry Association WA (LIAWA) and the Water Corporation have worked together to promote the efficient use of water in garden design with the objective of encouraging water efficiency throughout the community.
LIAWA, with assistance and support from the Water Corporation raises the standard of garden design and advice offered by specialist landscapers in Western Australia through education and training.
Lawn Mowing Contractors Association of WA Inc

The Lawn Mowing Contractors Association of WA Inc works with the Corporation to support water conservation and to offer training to all lawnmowing contractors so they can become “Water Corporation Endorsed Waterwise Lawnmowing Contractors".
The “Waterwise Lawnmowing Contractor” initiative was launched in 2007 to support behavioural changes in the community by encouraging the use of products and services designed to maximise water savings.
Master Plumbers & Gasfitters Association of WA

Since 1994, the Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association and the Water Corporation have worked together to promote demand management of water within the home, with the objective of promoting efficient use of water throughout the community.
The MPGA promotes “Water Corporation Endorsed Waterwise Plumbers”, through the new “EnviroWest” Plumbing Sustainability course, endorsed and assisted by the Water Corporation. A mutually beneficial working relationship has developed between the MPGA and the Corporation, with the exchange of information and presentations.
Nursery & Garden Industry of Western Australia
The Nursery & Garden Industry WA (NGIWA) & the Water Corporation are committed to exploring any avenue that will further enhance their working relationship in all matters that promote the shared objectives of both organisations. This includes promoting the efficient use of water within the gardening industry and to customers.

The Smart Approved WaterMark is Australia’s water saving and labelling program for products and services that are helping reduce water use around the home. Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA) is a newcomer to the gardening industry in WA but is well established in Victoria. Through partnership with Garden Centres Association of Australia the Sustainable Garden Centre project has been extended to WA and South Australia.
Turf & Landscape Industry Association
The Turf & Landscape Industry Association (T&LIA) works with the Corporation to explore products and services that promote water efficiency in the garden. T&LIA members have been provided with waterwise information, advice and support, under the banner of “Water Corporation Waterwise Associates”.
